Mainline Photographics have been offering consignment (commission) sales since opening our first store in 1970. During the 38 years since then we have successfully sold tens of thousands of photographic items. As a result of record sales we are looking for more quality camera gear to sell on your behalf. We will happily accept one or two items or indeed complete camera outfits for consignment sale.

If it is more convenient we can arrange for one of our trusted couriers to collect your equipment. The equipment is fully insured while in transit.

Before an item is placed on our shelves it is thoroughly checked and valued. You, the owner, will be informed of the valuation and any problems encountered. If any repairs are required we can arrange these at competitive prices using our in house technician. The costs of repairs are deducted when the item is sold, so there is no up front costs.

After we have checked the equipment we then give you a suggested selling price for each item: this is based on current market trends and our 38 years of experience. If you are not happy with our valuation we will arrange for the equipment to be returned to you. Past customers have been delighted with the sums they have received. We generally get more for your gear than by private sale or trade in as  we can offer many facilities, can take credit cards and give a full guarantee.

When an item has been sold payment will be made 14 days after the sale. This is to ensure the buyer is satisfied with the purchase. Our preferred method of settlement is by direct deposit which is both safe and quick. You also save a trip to the bank.

We charge a set 25% commission. What do we do to earn this?

We pay any charges incurred when someone pays by credit card.
We will also pay the correct amount of GST payable to the Australian Taxation Office.
We will advertise your equipment in various Photographic magazines.
We will list your equipment on our popular web site.
We will cover the guarantee on your equipment.
We will use our 38 years of experience to get you the quickest sale and the best price.
