RH Design Safelight Torch. (Showroom demo unit) This handy torch (flashlight) comes in two flavours - red LED, bright and safe for black and white papers, and yellow LED (590nm) optimised for colour materials. The b/w version produces a bright beam or safe red light ideal for print inspection during development or for locating that dropped dodging tool! The colour version is useful for general orientation in the darkroom while colour materials are exposed - it should not be used for direct illumination of colour materials although the wavelength of the LED light has been chosen to match the minimum sensitivity of colour papers. Housed in a small plastic key-fob style enclosure with a cord which can be worn around the neck or wrist, the SafeTorch can be held and operated with one hand. The momentary switch action ensures it cannot be left on accidentally. The SafeTorch operates on a single 12v alkaline battery (included). Replacements are easily obtainable from retailers or direct from us.
