E-Clypse EyeCup has been created specifically for the Leica user after rigorous design and testing by us – it is not a generic eyecup that we have rebranded: the nuances of rangefinder photography bring together the individuality of the Leica photographer and the special requirements of the rangefinder, and E-Clypse EyeCup aids this synthesis.
The eyecup is made of silicon rubber, which is tough, unaffected by most substances, resistant to permanent deformation, and has a very long life. The central core of E-Clypse EyeCup is precision made from high-grade, black-anodized 6061 aluminum alloy, and is threaded to accept Leica diopter lenses.
E-Clypse EyeCup is attached to your camera using the viewfinder thread, in eactly the same way as the viewfinder magnifier and diopter lenses manufactured by Leica. E-Clypse EyeCup fits all Leica M cameras with an M12 × 0.5 viewfinder thread (all models back to the Leica M3).
E-Clypse EyeCup 42
E-Clypse EyeCup 42 has a 42 mm diameter circular eyecup. It works equally well whether the camera is held in portrait or landscape orientation. You can keep E-Clypse EyeCup on your camera permanently – its robust design and compact shape prevent it from becoming accidentally detached or being a hindrance when your Leica M is not being used, for example when stored in your camera bag.
