What makes our soft releases special?
You might think that soft releases are simple products – but that's not the case. Here's why you should buy the Thumbs Up.
Materials
We use solid brass to make our soft releases because it does not bind in threads and does not break easily. This eliminates the possibility of jamming or snapping off in the shutter button.
Quality
All Thumbs Up soft releases are made to very high tolerances using computer-controlled CNC machining. Some inferior soft releases have inaccurate threads, which can be too tight too loose, either way they are great to use. Our soft releases are individually boxed, keeping them in pristine condition until they reach you.
Comfort
Another reason for making Thumbs Up releases from brass is, that we can coat them with high-quality gloss-black paint. This is a time-consuming process, but one that provides a warmer, more comfortable surface than stainless steel or anodized aluminum soft releases.
Design
First, the profiles of Thumbs Up soft releases have been carefully designed to give a silky smooth movement to release the shutter gently. Naturally the height and profile of each Thumbns Up soft release is crucial for the release to work correctly and minimize camera shake.
Secondly, soft releases from some other companies work loose because they have angled or knurled edges that catch on bags, clothing, and the like. Thumbs Up (Beep, boop, and Bip) are perfectly smooth and won't catch on anything. This, in combination with their accurate computer-cut threads, means that Beep, Boop, and Bip will stay on your camera!
